The Crime of the Century

Hi Everyone,

Well this week's exercise was another relaxation technique called Crime of the Century and I'm sorry to say I found it just as boring as the last one. I'm just not a sit and listen to someone talking about colors and relaxing and have it work for me. I'm having a hard time with those whole meditation, picturing colors and other things that most would find relaxing, just not into this stuff. But on to the other questions for this weeks blog post. Physical wellbeing I would rate myself at 7 and I do have a goal to improve this and that is to increase my exercise during the week. I plan to move from 2-3 days a week to 3-4 days a week, have a plan in place to work this into my schedule during the week for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and the fourth day will be either Saturday or Sunday. Spiritual well-being would be my weakest area, not very spiritual, so I will go with a rating of 3 and as far as a goal to improve that, well I'm taking this course to try and increase my knowledge on the benefits of spiritual well-being and physcial and psychological health. Psychological well-being is my strongest area with a rating of 8, I have a very strong mind and have learned over the years just how to control the stress in my life and keep myself in balance. Improvement is always needed right, so in this area my goal will be to increase my levels of relaxation by learning some techniques in meditating (without the little voice) just relaxing on my own with maybe the sounds of nature-no voice. So I guess that completes this weeks blog. See everyone in discussion. I like discussion boards better and wished these exercises were posted there so we could all share.

Journey on Relaxation Exercises

Hi Everyone,

After listening to Journey on Relaxation Exercises I found that my way of relaxation I guess is somewhat different then most. I'm sure this exercise is of great assistance to many, I'm just not a person who can listen to someone's voice (especially one as mono tone as his) and take in directions to promote relaxation. I find just completing repeative deep breaths in and slowly out and finding that one thing that your is peaceful in your life is all I need to relax. I prefer to just sit on my back porch and enjoy nature with no voices, radios, or phones and watch the squirrels and birds play and eat in my yard. That is what works for me, listening to the Relaxation exercises I found my self losing interest and my thoughts wondering to many other things. But I'm sure many of you find it very helpful and just goes to thought that individuals have different techniques that work for them and we just need to find what works for each of us.
